San Diego: Power Lost After Underground Vault Fire

11.17.2018 | 7:20 PM | SAN DIEGO – Numerous homes and businesses were without power after an underground electrical vault caught fire, Saturday morning.

Firefighters responded to reports of smoke coming from an underground vault near the intersection of 33rd Street and El Cajon Boulevard around 7:20 PM.

Crews arriving on scene located an underground vault with fire showing and immediately cordoned off the area.

Due to the electrical nature of the fire, San Diego Gas & Electric responded to secure power to the vault.

Multiples homes and businesses lost power while crews worked to restore power and repair the vault.
