San Diego Police Officer & Suspect Dead in Fiery Pursuit Crash

DETAILS:

1. Preliminary Info
2. There was a SDPD pursuit of a driver in a BMW.
3. The driver of the BMW was witnessed by the officers speeding eastbound on Clairemont Mesa Blvd.
4. Two officers responded in an attempt to head off the suspect.
5. The suspect T-boned into the officers and their patrol vehicle.
6. There was a multi-vehicle accident. (4 vehicles).
7. The Police vehicle caught on fire, and one officer was trapped in the fire.
8. The other officer was ejected through the windshield.
9. Officers arrived in mass along with firefighters.
10. We have learned that one officer is deceased.
11. The suspect was transported and died at the hospital.
12. The suspect is a 14-15-year-old male.
13. The other officer was transported with major injuries.
14. The status of the other drivers from the other two cars is unknown.
15. There may be a 3rd death from one of the other vehicles.
16. The investigation is underway.
