San Diego: Officers Save Man’s Life After Crash
10.22.2019 | 10:45 AM | SAN DIEGO – A man was alive thanks to the quick action of police officers after he was involved in a traffic collision, Tuesday morning.
Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision in the 6100 block of Broadway in the Encanto area around 10:45 AM.
Units arriving on scene located a traffic collision involving a vehicle that struck a parked car.
The elderly male driver inside the vehicle was unconscious with his foot on the pedal and the wheels of the vehicle still spinning. A fire was also begin to start under the victim’s vehicle.
Officers quickly extricated the male from the vehicle and determined he was unconscious and not breathing prompting them to initiate CPR.
The male regained consciousness thanks to the officer’s life-saving actions and was transported to an area hospital in unknown condition by firefighter paramedics.
It is believed the male victim suffered a medical emergency prior to the crash.
