San Diego: Officers Injured During Fight With Suspect

11.25.2018 | 3:14 PM | SAN DIEGO – Two officers were hospitalized after a fight broke out while responding to a domestic violence call, Sunday afternoon.

Officers responded to a domestic dispute involving an individual with mental illness in the 2400 block of Morningside Street around 3:00 PM.

While on scene investigating a subject believed to be suffering from mental illness attacked the officers.

Officers attempted to deploy a taser but were still injured in the struggle. A second taser deployment allowed officers to detain the suspect.

During the struggle a male officers suffered a hand injury while a female officer suffered a skull injury.

Both officers were transported to UCSD hospital for treatment.

The suspect was evaluated at Paradise Valley Hospital before being booked into jail.
