San Diego: Naked Homicide Suspect Taken Into Custody After Standoff
04.04.2020 | 4:00 PM | SAN DIEGO – A suspect who shot and killed another man was taken into custody after a bizarre standoff with police, Saturday evening.
Authorities responded to reports of a suicidal subject in the 2400 block of Servando Avenue in the San Ysidro area around 4:00 PM.
Units arriving on scene located male victim down outside an apartment building suffering from a gunshot wound.
Firefighter paramedics treated the shooting victim on scene before transporting him to UCSD Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
The suspected shooter, reported to be the suicidal subject officers were originally responding to, was found inside second-story apartment.
Officers tried to detain the man but he refused, prompting a bizarre standoff with the suspect standing nude on a balcony.
A SWAT team eventually responded and took the naked suspect into custody.
The circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting and subsequent standoff remain under investigation.
