San Diego: Man Arrested After Setting House Fire That Left Three Dead, Two Hospitalized
10.13.2019 | 4:20 AM | SAN DIEGO – A man man was arrested after an arson fire that left three dead and two others critically injured, early Sunday morning.
Authorities responded to reports of a fire at a home in the 3100 block of Clay Avenue in the Logan Heights area around 4:20 AM.
Units arriving on scene found a single-story residence engulfed in heavy fire with reports of victims trapped.
Firefighters quickly attacked the blaze and made entry to rescue the occupants inside.
Three victims were pulled from the home and two others were located outside.
Firefighter paramedics performed life-saving measures on all victims but ultimately pronounced one deceased on scene.
Four other victims were transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. In the subsequent days, two victims succumbed to their injuries.
Police arrested 26-year-old Wilbur Romero on charged of arson and homicide.
Officials report the victims were his parents and siblings.
