San Diego: Malfunctioning Railroad Crossings Trap Motorists
12.12.2018 | 9:00 AM | SAN DIEGO – Numerous motorists were trapped behind railroad crossings after a system malfunction, Wednesday morning.
Authorities responded to reports of motorists stuck behind closed railroad crossings on Washington and Noell streets.
For nearly two hours the malfunctioning barriers left motorists stranded until officers lifted the crossing guards by hand.
Trains were stopped while police allowed motorists to cross.
Amtrak was on scene repairing the crossings.
It was unclear what caused the malfunction.
