San Diego: Fire Engulfs Car, Threatens Nearby Brush
11.14.2018 | 3:45 PM | SAN DIEGO – A car fire threatening vegetation was control by firefighters, Wednesday afternoon.
Firefighters responded to reports of a vehicle fire on the eastbound SR-76 two miles east of East Vista Way in the community of Bonsall around 3:45 PM.
Units arriving on scene located an SUV on the shoulder of the freeway with smoke and fire coming from the engine compartment.
Crews quickly attacked the fire and prevented flames from spreading to nearby vegetation within 15 minutes.
The visible smoke plume and fire apparatus resulted in a miles long traffic jam.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
