San Diego: Crazed Man Steals Firefighters Ladder To Flee Police

11.24.2018 | 9:30 AM | SAN DIEGO – A man thought to be under the influence stole a fireman’s ladder while atop a roof and used it to climb up even further, Saturday morning.

Police responded to man reported to be under the influence who had stopped his vehicle near the intersection of 41st and Beta streets around 9:30 AM.

Units arriving on scene found the male atop the roof of a residence and his vehicle, a BMW, parked in the middle of a street.

Firefighters responded and attempted to use their ladder to allow the man to climb to safety. Instead, the man stole the ladder and used it as a bridge to climb even further into the residential community.

The man eventually jumped to the ground and was quickly subdued by officers.

Authorities took the man into custody pending their investigation. It is believed the suspect was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
