San Diego: Car Crashes Into Bedroom, Hits Sleeping Woman

12.01.2018 | 2:00 PM | SAN DIEGO – A woman was lucky to be alive after a car came crashing into her bedroom as she slept, Saturday afternoon.

Police and fire officials responded to reports of a vehicle that crashed into an apartment in the 4600 block of Ohio Street around 2:00 PM.

Officials arriving on scene found a Hyundai sedan that had apparently reversed into an apartment.

A woman sleeping inside the apartment was struck by the car but not seriously injured.

The driver reported selecting reverse on accident, causing her to accelerate into the apartment.

Drugs or alcohol were not suspected to be a factor in the crash.

The apartment was evacuated while a city building inspector responded to evaluate the building.
