San Diego: Border Patrol Agents Rescue Child After Pursuit
11.09.2018 | 7:30 AM | SAN DIEGO – A child was safe after pursuit suspects crashed their vehicle and fled into the child’s house, Friday morning.
U.S. Border Patrol agents spotted a suspicious vehicle with 5 occupants inside and performed a license plate check. The license plate returned stolen and the agent attempted to initiate a traffic stop.
The driver failed to yield, leading agents on a pursuit. During the pursuit, a male passenger was able to bail on foot and evade officers.
The remaining 4 suspects, two males and two females, fled on foot after the stolen vehicle crashed into a parked care along Janse Way.
All then fled on foot. Both females were quickly apprehended by mutual agencies. One male subject was also apprehended a quarter-mile away.
The final suspect broke into a nearby home while a family of 5 was inside. The family fled, however a 9-year-old girl got left behind on the second floor of the home.
Border Patrol agents entered the house with guns drawn and rescued the child before arresting the suspect who had hidden himself inside.
The San Diego Police Department responded to assist investigating the case.
