San Bernardino: CHP Officer Witnesses Fatal Car-To-Car Shooting

10.30.2019 | 4:20 PM | SAN BERNARDINO – A California Highway Patrol officer on patrol witnessed a fatal car-to-car shooting, Wednesday afternoon.

The officer was in the area of Orange Show Road and E Street around 4:20 PM when he observed the occupant of a white Toyota Camry open fire on a black BMW X3.

After shots rang out the BMW crashed into a black sedan occupied by a mother and her child before veering across lanes of traffic and coming to rest on a sidewalk. The suspect vehicle fled the scene northbound on E Street.

The officer immediately called for assistance and discovered two occupants inside the BMW suffering from gunshot wounds.

Firefighter paramedics arriving on scene pronounced one victim inside the BMW deceased. The second victim was also reportedly pronounced deceased.

Both the child and mother struck by the BMW were shaken up but uninjured.

Authorities have closed off all lanes of Orange Show Road between E Street and the I-215 Freeway while they investigate.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting were not immediately clear.
