San Bernardino: Arsonist Caught Lighting Fires By Photojournalist

11.13.2019 | 12:00 AM | SAN BERNARDINO – A photojournalist caught an arsonist in the act of lighting fires leading to a quick arrest, early Wednesday morning.

The photojournalist was responding to a vegetation fire when he saw a man lighting brush on fire near the intersection of D and Oak streets around 12:00 AM.

Authorities responded to the scene after being contacted by the photojournalist who kept on eye on the arsonist until they arrived.

Ultimately the man noticed he had been caught and tried to extinguish the fire before ultimately being taken into custody by police officers.

The man’s motive are unclear and the incident may be related to other small fires that have plagued the area.
