RV Fire Ignites Fireworks, Sparks Massive Blaze in Tomball
At approximately 7:00 pm on March 18th, 2026, Spring Fire Department crews responded to a reported mobile vehicle fire in the 23000 block of Kuykendahl in Tomball, Texas.
Upon arrival, firefighters located a fully involved RV fire that had spread to a nearby shipping container filled with fireworks. The fireworks ignited, sending explosions and flames beyond the container and sparking a wind-driven grass fire that spread across the property, into nearby wooded areas, and toward an adjacent rail line.
Multiple agencies, including Spring, Klein, The Woodlands, Magnolia, and Tomball Fire Departments, responded and worked together to contain the fast-moving fire and extinguish the burning fireworks container.
Crews were later seen mopping up hotspots after gaining control of the blaze. Authorities stated the scene would be turned over to the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office for an origin and cause investigation.
No injuries were immediately reported.
