Rock Throwing Homeless Man Causes Crash On Camera

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 5-30-24 | 3:30 am
LOCATION: 110n south of 10
AREA/CITY: LOS ANGELES
DETAILS:

A homeless man was seen on the 110n throwing rocks onto the freeway from the shoulder near 23rd St. One of the rocks hit a passing motorcyclist (on camera) causing him to go down in lanes (on camera).  The rider slid into lanes and was not struck by any other vehicles driving on the freeway. I was able to help him off the freeway to a safe spot. The debris on the freeway also caused multiple vehicles to get flats. One car was seen at the gore point waiting for roadside assistance. A couple visiting from Chicago had just arrived in LA and was coming from LAX in a rental car when they ran over the rocks and got a flat. Instead of calling roadside service, we changed the tire.

As for the unhoused guy, he walked away as soon as the motorcyclist went down. Last seen walking east on 23rd from Fig.
