Robbery Suspect Shot After Police Pursuit Into Dallas
A robbery suspect is in custody after leading officers on a high-speed pursuit from Richardson into Dallas that ended in an exchange of gunfire early Thursday morning.
At approximately 2:12 a.m. on July 30, 2026, Plano police notified Richardson officers that they had lost sight of a vehicle driven by a robbery suspect near Custer Road and West Renner Road.
Richardson officers later located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to stop, leading officers on a pursuit south into Dallas.
According to investigators, the suspect fired multiple rounds at pursuing Richardson officers during the chase. Officers returned fire as the pursuit continued.
The chase came to an end near the intersection of Alpha Road and Hughes Lane after the suspect’s vehicle became disabled.
Officers took the suspect into custody at the scene. Dallas Fire-Rescue transported the suspect to a local hospital with a gunshot wound. The suspect’s condition has not been released.
Authorities said the incident stemmed from a robbery reported in The Colony. The Colony Police Department is leading the robbery investigation, while the Dallas Police Department is investigating the officer-involved shooting.
The investigation remains ongoing.
