Riverside: Sycamore Canyon Fire Scorches 200+ Acres
07.02.2019 | 12:40 PM | RIVERSIDE – Firefighters worked to contain a vegetation fire that spread to more than 200 acres at the Sycamore Canyon Nature Park, Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities responded to reports of a vegetation fire burning in the Sycamore Canyon Nature Park near the intersection of Central Venue and Sycamore Canyon around 12:40 PM.
Units arriving on scene located at least 20 acres of land burning with numerous homes in the path of the blaze.
Crews worked tirelessly to control the blaze within several hours as the fire scorched just over 200 acres of land.
It was unknown whether any injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
