Riverside: Suspicious Brush Fire On UCR Campus

07.31.2020 | 3:15 PM | RIVERSIDE – A suspicious brush fire broke out on the University of California, Riverside campus, Friday evening.

Authorities responded to reports of a brush fire burning near University Avenue on the UCR campus around 3:15 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a small brush fire near a student housing building and began efforts to extinguish the blaze.

Winds helped the fire grow to about two-acres but it was later contained by firefighters.

The cause of the fire was determined to be suspicious in nature and remains under investigation.
