Riverside: Horse Safe After Trailer Overturns During Freeway Crash

01.05.2020 | 3:03 PM | RIVERSIDE – A horse was safe after chain-reaction crash caused the trailer it was riding in to overturn, Sunday evening.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision with reports of a horse trapped in an overturned trailer on the I-215 Freeway near the SR-60 Freeway around 3:03 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a multi-vehicle crash with a horse trapped inside.

Firefighters quickly freed the trapped horse and evaluated several individuals on scene for injuries but all refused treatment.

Initial reports indicate a crash occurred in front of the vehicle hauling the horse trailer causing it to slow down when another vehicle sideswiped the trailer and caused it to overturn.

The cause of the initial crash is under investigation.
