Rising Waters and Downed Tree Impact Menlo Park Neighborhoods
At approximately 4:00 a.m. on December 24th, 2025, firefighters and police officers responded to reports of flooding near Hamilton Avenue and Willow Road in Menlo Park.
Upon arrival, crews located floodwaters reaching residents’ doorways and partially submerging multiple vehicles. Fire and police personnel began going door to door to check on residents, and the county issued a shelter-in-place warning for the 1300 block of Hamilton Avenue. Swift water rescue resources were placed on standby as conditions continued to be monitored.
Later that morning, at approximately 6:30 a.m., responders were dispatched to the 600 block of Berkshire Drive in unincorporated Menlo Park after a large oak tree fell across the roadway, blocking traffic and damaging a nearby fence. Public works crews responded and worked to remove the tree and clear the roadway.
The response was handled by the Menlo Park Fire Protection District and the Menlo Park Police Department. Officials continued to monitor weather-related conditions throughout the area.
