Rialto: Officer Trapped In Patrol Vehicle After Crash

01.15.2019 | 10:55 PM | RIALTO – A police officer was trapped in his patrol vehicle after a crash, Tuesday night.

The officer radioed to report he was involved in a crash with another vehicle at the intersection of East Baseline and North Sycamore Avenue around 10:55 PM.

Additional units arriving on scene found the officer trapped in the wreckage of the crash.

Firefighters used the jaws of life and other tools to free the officer from his patrol vehicle within 15 minutes.

Both the officer and driver of the other involved vehicle were treated on scene before being transported to area hospitals.

The circumstances surrounding the crash are under investigation.
