Rescue of Tree Trimmer | Spring Valley
10.16.2022 | 10:38 AM | SPRING VALLEY – A male commercial tree trimmer was approx 40 ft up a 60ft palm tree using a chainsaw to start trimming the fronds from the tree.
The chainsaw he was using hit the tree and jumped and hit his left hand.
The man was wearing protective gloves, but the blade of the chainsaw still cut into the male’s left hand.
He was badly injured and feeling nauseous.
He could not come down from the tree on his own.
Firefighters were called in to come and rescue the injured worker.
The firefighters used the Ladder Truck and made their way up to the man, where a firefighter/paramedic started tending to the man’s injury.
The firefighters were able to get the male down and he was transported to a local hospital.
His cut is deep and will need a specialist doctor for his stitches and the repair of his hand.
