Rescue Crews Extricate Trapped Victim After Riverside Crash

At approximately 12:21 a.m. on May 16, 2026, emergency crews responded to a major two-vehicle collision near Arlington Avenue and Tyler Street in Riverside.

Responding firefighters located two heavily damaged vehicles, multiple injured occupants, and one trapped victim who required extrication from the wreckage.

Additional ambulances and fire personnel were requested to assist with the large-scale response.

According to Riverside Police Department, four occupants were transported to hospitals with various injuries, while the driver believed to be at fault was transported and later admitted to the ICU.

Investigators say the suspected driver displayed objective signs and symptoms of being under the influence and was taken into custody.

The collision also knocked down a traffic signal pole at the intersection.

The investigation remains ongoing.
