Redlands: Driver Rescued From Vehicle That Drove Off A Cliff

10.29.2019 | 9:11 PM | REDLANDS – A woman was rescued after the vehicle she was driving drove off a cliff and fell approximately 1,000 feet down, Tuesday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision with a vehicle over the side near the intersection of West Sunset Drive and Crown Street around 9:11 PM.

Units arriving on scene located the vehicle approximately 1,000 feet down a cliff still occupied by a solo female driver.

The location of the vehicle necessitated a helicopter to respond and hoist the woman from the vehicle to an awaiting ambulance.

She was treated on scene and transported to an area hospital within two hours.

Initial reports indicate the vehicle was traveling southbound on Crown Street when she lost control and went over the side of a clif near West Sunset Drive.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
