Reckless Driver Pursuit Termination

DETAILS:
- An SDPD officer spotted the male driver of a white truck flying through “red” lights at several intersections on El Cajon Blvd in the City Heights neighborhood.
- The driver turned north onto the I-15 and turned off his lights.
- His approximate speed on the city streets was 120 mph.
- The officer followed and caught up with the male on the eastbound I-8.
- The driver tried to elude the officer by pulling off on Waring rd and re-entering the freeway.
- He continued east to Lake Murray Rd and then re-entered the freeway, heading westbound, doing up to 90 mph in heavy fog.
- The driver then exited onto College Ave and entered the del Cerro neighborhood.
- The officer lost sight of the vehicle in the heavy fog.
- Officers saturated the area, and the male was found walking on Rockhurst Dr.
- W.hen the suspect saw the officers, he attempted to hide in some bushes but surrendered with further issues.
- Officers searched the area and found the truck several blocks away on Capri Dr.
- The vehicle was involved in a car burglary back on Sept. 25, 2024.
