Raging House Fire In West Phoenix

Firefighters have achieved fire control on an early morning house fire in west Phoenix.

Fire crews from Phoenix, Glendale, Avondale and Tolleson were called out just before 6:00am this morning for reports of fire coming from the roof of a two story home near 83rd Ave and Osborn. As fire companies arrived on scene they were met with heavy fire conditions showing from the residence. Firefighters quickly deployed multiple hoselines to attack the large flames on the exterior and make access into the house to search for potential victims. A first alarm was requested by command due to concerns of potential spread to nearby occupancies. Crews were able to get quick knockdown of the large flames which prevented the fire from extending into those surrounding structures.

Early reports suggested this home has been vacant for an extended amount of time. Currently there are no reports of injuries or displacements. The community assistance program is enroute to provide support if needed. Fire investigators are on scene looking into what caused the fire.
