Pursuit with Armed Motorcyclist Leads to Lethal Force Encounter

LOCATION: 2000 Block of North Sierra Way, San Bernardino
SUSPECT(S): Albert Park, 54-years-old, Resident of San Bernardino
SUMMARY: On Saturday, August 10, 2024, at about 1:12 a.m., deputies from the Sheriff’s Central Station observed a motorcycle traveling near North Leroy Street and 23rd Street, in San Bernardino. When deputies attempted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation, the driver, later identified as Albert Park, failed to yield and a pursuit ensued. Park drove to a residence in the 2000 block of North Sierra Way, abandoned the motorcycle and ran to the porch of the residence. Park was in possession of a loaded handgun. When deputies contacted Park, a lethal force encounter (LFE) occurred. Park was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. The investigation is ongoing.
