Pursuit Suspect Intentionally Strikes Building & Pedestrian | Chula Vista
12.20.2020 | 11:00 AM | Chula Vista – The suspect rammed a stolen Hummer 3 into the front of a Chevron Gas Station/Store for an unknown reason. He then fled the scene. CVPD Officers found him driving on Palomar St heading west and attempted to stop the suspect. he ran red lights and even drove onto the sidewalk to go around traffic.
He made his way to the southbound I-5 and south to Southern Diego (Egger Highlands). He made his way to a trailer park and stopped. Officers gave commands and he refused to get out of the vehicle. As an SDPD officer attempted to place a spike strip under the front wheels, the suspect took off.
At one point he purposedly swerved and hit a resident of the trailer park and continued on. He was trapped and stopped. Officers pulled the suspect out of the Hummer and the suspect was bit by a K-9, as he fought with the officers. The victim is apparently known to the suspect and was ran him over on purpose.
The victim was rushed to UCSD Hospital with Life-threatening Injuries and is not expected to live. The suspect was also transported to a hospital for his dog bite. The victim can be seen in the video putting the trash into a trash can as the suspect started towards him.
Prior history of the suspect:
Extensive criminal history. Last month, attempted murder by stabbing a victim from this particular trailer. Out of jail, he has a restraining order and violated it by attempting to break into the same trailer last week.
UPDATE: 2:00 pm
The suspect stole the Hummer 3 from the Road One Tow Yard on Maxwell Ave in Chula VIsta this morning. The victim is now been downgraded to “Serious Condition”.

SDPD just notified us that the Homicide Detectives are heading to the scene as the Victim’s condition has turned Grave.
