Pursuit Suspect Ejected and 11 People Injured in Highspeed Crash

DETAILS:
- DPS with assistance from HCSO was in pursuit of a young man when he crashed into multiple vehicles near the intersection
- The suspect lost control on Waugh, crossed over into oncoming traffic, and struck a Ford Sedan before striking a minivan in the intersection
- The suspect from the fleeing vehicle was ejected during the crash
- The ford was an uber with a driver and 2 fares, and the minivan was another ride share with 6 passengers and the driver
- most of the passengers inside the minivan required extrication, and it took firefighters about 30 minutes to extricate all of them
- In total, 8 of the 11 total people from the crash were transported to local trauma centers, and all are expected to survive
- A firearm was recovered and located with the suspect (last shot in video 1)
- The suspect is facing at least 2 separate counts of evading, on top of whatever charges the DA’s office takes for the pursuit crash (which may change based on extent of injuries to each of the 8 transported)
