Pursuit Suspect Crashes Into Wall in San Bernardino
11.02.2020 | 11:30 PM | SAN BERNARDINO – A male is in the hospital before he continues his journey to jail after trying to evade authorities in San Bernardino county Monday night.
SBCSO Deputies initiated the pursuit on a Honda Accord shortly after 11 PM for reasons unknown.
During the pursuit, the driver of the honda accord crashed into another vehicle at a high rate of speed at Inland Center Dr. and I-215 northbound on-ramp.
The driver attempted to continue fleeing from deputies by taking the 215 southbound onramp, however the on-ramp was closed to all traffic due to construction and had cones and closed road signs at the entrance.
The driver ignored all posted warnings and drove through the roadblock.
The driver of the Honda hit the retaining wall shortly after going through the roadblock and was taken into custody.
The vehicle that was hit sustained major damage to the vehicle.
At least one person was transported to the hospital in an unknown condition, however the injuries did not appear life-threatening.
The driver of the Honda was taken to a local area hospital in an unknown condition in police custody.
The I-215 overpass at Inland Center Dr. was shut down in both directions for approximately 1 hour while authorities investigated.
