Pursuit of Pickup and Trailer Drive off Freeway onto Train Tracks

*NOTE: IN THE VIDEO, YOU CAN SEE THE SUSPECT THROUGH THE TREES JUST AFTER HE WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY. HE WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN THE BUSHES ON THE SIDE OF THE TRAIN TRACKS.
*ACCORDING TO METRO WORKERS, THE TRUCK CAME DOWN THE ON-RAMP THE WRONG WAY AND OFF THE SIDE BEFORE LANDING ON THE TRACKS.
According to Riverside County Sherriff’s PIO, Lt. Deidre Vickers, Shortly before 1:00 p.m., Perris Sheriff’s Station deputies reported having a visual of a stolen trailer in Lukens Lane and Weston Road in Good Hope. Deputies attempted a vehicle stop, but the suspect failed to yield and a pursuit was initiated. The suspect went off the freeway on the ramp on 215 and Alessandro Blvd and down the embankment onto the railroad tracks, where he abandoned the vehicle on the train tracks in the area of Alessandro Boulevard and Sycamore Canyon Boulevard in Riverside and fled on foot. Deputies caught up to him on Motorfair Drive and took him into custody. This investigation is ongoing.
