Pursuit Ends In Serious Crash In Los Angeles

DETAILS:

1. LAPD officers attempted to stop a stolen vehicle.
2. The driver pulled over and as officers were telling him to get out of the car the driver took off.
3. Officers went into pursuit along Vernon to Central and Central to Slauson.
4. As the driver traveled west on Slauson he struck a vehicle head on.
5. The driver of the pursuit vehicle exited the car and was quickly taken into custody.
6. The female driver was helped from her car as a small fire started in the engine compartment.
7. The fire was knocked down quickly.
8. Paramedics arrived and transported the suspect to a local hospital in an unknown condition.
9. The female driver suffered a minor injury and was treated and released at the scene.
