- LAPD officers attempted to stop a stolen vehicle.
- The driver pulled over and as officers were telling him to get out of the car the driver took off.
- Officers went into pursuit along Vernon to Central and Central to Slauson.
- As the driver traveled west on Slauson he struck a vehicle head on.
- The driver of the pursuit vehicle exited the car and was quickly taken into custody.
- The female driver was helped from her car as a small fire started in the engine compartment.
- The fire was knocked down quickly.
- Paramedics arrived and transported the suspect to a local hospital in an unknown condition.
- The female driver suffered a minor injury and was treated and released at the scene.
