Pursuit Ends in Fiery Crash | San Diego

02.13.2022 | 3:30 AM | SAN DIEGO – Neighbors called 911 about a burglary taking place at a residence.

Officers arrived to find 3 males in a black Mercedes.

Officers approached and the driver took off almost hitting an officer who had to dive out of the way.

The pursuit went through City Heights and down to Fairmont Park, where the suspects hit a parked car on Home Ave.

The driver then got onto the southbound I-805 and up to Imperial Ave, where they lost a tire.

On 3 tires and a rim, they came back southbound on the I-805 to the westbound SR-54 Transition ramp and the driver lost control and crashed.

The 3 suspects attempted to flee on foot.

2 were taken into custody almost immediately with 1 male being bit by a K-9.

The 3rd male made it a little further before being taken into custody after also being bit by a K-9.

The Mercedes caught on fire and was destroyed.

The transition was shut down for over 1 hour.
