Pursuit Ended With Grappler Device | Phoenix

01.20.2022 | 1:30 AM | PHOENIX – One suspect is in custody after fleeing from Phoenix Police officers around 1:00 AM this morning in East Phoenix.

The suspect, driving a black 2 door Acura, fled from officers at high speeds traveling southbound through Ahwatukee and into the City of Chandler before traveling back northbound into the central Phoenix area.

Phoenix Police ground units followed the vehicle at a safe distance as the Phoenix Police Air Unit tracked the vehicle from above.

A Phoenix Police K9 unit equipped with a Grappler device was able to successfully bring the vehicle to a stop near 27th Avenue and Bethany Home Road around 1:30 AM.

The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
