Pursuit Crash Knocks Out Power To Area | Chula Vista
INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 12-23-22 2:48 am LOCATION: Bay Blvd & Stella St CITY: Chula Vista DETAILS: A SDPD officer attempted to pull the male driver of a car over for a traffic violation on Main St near the off-ramp from the southbound I-5. The suspect fled to the southbound I-5 with the officer in pursuit. The pursuit was called off at one point due to the reckless driving and speed of the suspect. The suspect took the Palomar St exit in Chula Vista and made his way onto Bay Blvd. He attempted to make a left turn onto Stella St at too high a speed and lost control of the car. The car left the roadway and hit the guyline to a power pole and then went into a large chain link fence. More than one person was seen running away from the car. When officers arrived, they found a male and female near the Valero Gas Station on Palomar St and they were detained. The male driver was found hiding under a car in the driveway of a house near the crash site. He was arrested for the Failure to Yield and the Hit & Run accident. The first two detained were released as they were found to not be involved in the incident. The other people seen fleeing were not found. Power was out for a short time due to the power pole being struck, but SDG&E were able to get the power back on. For licensing, contact info@onscene.tv Follow our other platforms!
