Property Owner Shoots Burglar in the Face with Shotgun

LOCATION: 215 E Burress St

DETAILS:
- HPD North Shep units were dispatched to reports of a burglary in progress
- Arriving officers located 2 injured suspects
- one of the suspects sustained a shotgun blast to the face
- HFD was requested for the suspects
- The property owner interrupted the burglars attempting to steal copper wire
- an altercation between the owner and burglars ensued, and the owner discharged his shotgun during the altercation, striking both males
- Both suspects were transported by HFD to local trauma centers
- HPD K9 was requested to search the property, but did not locate any additional suspects
