Pregnant Woman Reportedly Jumps From Second Floor During Riverside Fire
Five people were hospitalized, including a firefighter, after a second-story apartment fire early Thursday morning in Downtown Riverside.
The fire was reported around 2:15 a.m. on September 17, 2026, at 3460 5th Street.
Riverside City Fire and AMR responded after multiple reports of an apartment fire with people still inside. According to preliminary dispatch traffic, those reportedly inside included a pregnant woman.
The first arriving engine reported fire showing from a second-floor window. Firefighters brought the blaze under control approximately 20 minutes after the initial dispatch.
A total of five people were transported to hospitals, including one firefighter. Their conditions were not immediately available.
Additional radio traffic indicated the pregnant woman jumped from the second floor during the fire and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. Her condition was not immediately known.
It was unclear how many residents were displaced as a result of the fire.
A Riverside City Fire investigator responded to the scene. The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
