POWAY Major Crash Involving Fuel Tanker

- POWAY: At approximately 5:26 a.m., multiple reports were received of a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a fuel tanker at SR-67 and Chaparral Way.First responders arrived to find a yellow SUV with major damage and a fuel tanker with moderate damage. Firefighters transported the driver of the SUV to a hospital with minor to moderate injuries. The driver of the fuel tanker was not transported.
The cause of the crash is unknown at this time and remains under investigation. Hazardous materials crews were requested due to oil in the roadway.
SR-67 will remain closed while cleanup and the investigation are ongoing. There is no additional information at this time.
