Possible Hit & Run Driver Kills Bicyclist

DETAILS:

1. A bicyclist was killed after being struck by a sedan late Thursday night
2. Firefighters and paramedics were called to the area regarding a vehicle versus bicyclist crash near the El Monte RV with the bicyclist reportedly trapped under the car
3. Arriving, they located a single male adult down unresponsive in front of the car, which had crashed through a fence and into the RV business’ sign
4. The driver may have possibly fled on foot prior to police arrival as no driver was present
5. The male victim was rushed to St. Francis medical center, where he reportedly succumbed to his injuries
6. A crime scene has been established and Whittier PD Traffic Bureau investigators have been summoned to the scene to comb the area for evidence
