- HPD and HFD responded to reports of a major crash with extrication
- Arriving companies located a solo vehicle off the roadway with major damage
- The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene
- The driver was traveling Southbound at a high rate of speed, struck trash cans, then left the roadway, struck a tree, and came to rest in a ditch
- there are alcoholic beverages in the vehicle
- The speedometer is stuck at 80 MPH, likely from impact with the tree
- The car was likely at a higher rate of speed upon initial impact
- The solo occupant is suspected of being impaired and high speeds, but this will be confirmed by evidence at the scene and ME’s toxicology reports
