- A white Porsche coupe was traveling at a high rate of speed on the South Loop feeder road, after exiting the main lanes at Kirby and continued traveling at a high rate of speed.
- The driver lost control, struck a curb, and went airborne.
- The Porsche crashed into a pole.
- The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
- The driver was the only apparent occupant of the vehicle.
- The driver has not yet been identified.
- Speed was believed to be a factor in the crash.
- Intoxication is still TBD.
- Downed lines were stretched across the westbound and eastbound main lanes of the South Loop.
- All main lanes were temporarily closed while CenterPoint worked to remove the lines.
- The closure was expected to last between one hour and 90 minutes.
- The downed lines were not affecting electrical service.
