Pomona: Suspect Flees Into Food 4 Less During Pursuit

02.09.2020 | 10:10 PM | POMONA – A suspect was caught after fleeing into a Food 4 Less during a pursuit, Sunday night.

Officers from the Chino Police Department were in pursuit of a suspect driving a lifted pickup truck for unknown reasons.

The suspect fled into the city of Pomona and ditched his vehicle in the parking lot of a Food 4 Less and entered the store in the 2000 block of South Garey Avenue on foot around 10:10 PM.

Police surrounded the store and evacuated customers and employees before making entry.

As a team of officers entered the store, the suspect attempted to flee out a rear exit and was quickly apprehended.

The store was reopened within 45 minutes and no injuries were reported but several customers and employees were visibly shaken.

It was unclear what charges the suspect might be facing or why he fled.
