Pomona: Suspect Dead After Officer-Involved Shooting
03.30.2020 | 7:20 PM | POMONA – A suspect armed with a sword was dead after an officer-involved shooting, Monday evening.
Authorities responded to reports of a stabbing involving a sword near the intersection of Second Street and San Antonio Avenue around 7:20 PM.
Units arriving on scene located a male victim suffering from a stab wounds after he was stabbed by his brother.
Officers attempted to stop the suspect who was located nearby and a short foot pursuit ensued.
The pursuit ended near the intersection of Third and Reservoir streets when an officer-involved shooting occurred.
Firefighter paramedics responded to the stabbing victim and transported him to Pomona Valley Hospital in unknown condition.
The suspect, who was later identified as 37-year-old Anthony Pacheco, was pronounced deceased on scene.
The sword was recovered from the scene.
No officers were injured in the incident which may have stemmed from a domestic dispute.
