Pomona: Shooting in Downtown Leads To Police Chase

10.13.2019 | 1:10 AM | POMONA – A shooting in a downtown area led to a police chase that ended with a successful pursuit intervention technique (PIT), early Sunday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a man who was shot near the intersection of Third and Main streets in the downtown area of Pomona around 1:10 AM.

Units arriving in the area located a vehicle related to the shooting and attempted to stop the vehicle.

The vehicle, occupied by a male suspect, failed to yield to officers and led them on a brief pursuit.

Officers executed a successful PIT maneuver forcing the suspect vehicle to stop but the driver refused to exit.

A taser was eventually deployed to subdue the driver who was taken to an area hospital.

The shooting victim in downtown was treated by firefighter paramedics before being transported to an area hospital in unknown condition.
