Pomona: Robbery Suspect Shoots Mother & Son

01.03.2020 | 9:50 PM | POMONA – A mother and her son were hospitalized after being shot during a botched robbery, Friday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a shooting with two victims at an apartment complex located in the 800 block of Buena Vista Avenue around 9:50 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a male and a female later identified as a mother and her son suffering from gunshot wounds.

Firefighter paramedics transported both victims to area hospitals for treatment. The male was listed in critical condition while the female was reportedly stable.

Initial reports indicate the woman was approached by an unknown number of suspects who attempted to rob her.

The female victims son observed the robbery in progress and attempted to intervene prompting one of the suspects to pull out a firearm and open fire.

The suspects fled shortly after the shooting but no descriptions were immediately available.
