Pomona: Fire Burns Through Transient Encampment

07.23.2019 | 11:25 PM | POMONA – Firefighters extinguished a fire that broke out at a transient encampment, Tuesday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a vegetation fire adjacent to the Garey Avenue on ramp to the SR-60 Freeway around 11:25 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a vegetation fire burning through an apparent transient encampment and worked to quickly extinguish the flames before they could spread.

Officers searched the area for occupants of the encampment but later determined they had fled prior to the arrival of authorities.
