Police Stop Stolen Vehicle With Grappler Device | Phoenix

02.08.2022 | 11:00 PM | PHOENIX – Phoenix Police located an occupied stolen Chevy Avalanche near 27th Avenue and Van Buren Street shortly after 11:00 PM Tuesday night.

Officers called for additional ground units as well as the PPD air unit as they followed the vehicle North on 27th Avenue towards interstate 10.

A Phoenix Police K9 unit equipped with a Grappler Police Bumper grappled the stolen truck as it attempted to enter I-10 Westbound from 27th.

According to the Sergeant on the scene, the truck attempted to break free from the Grappler’s grip with no luck.

Officers took the driver into custody and detained 2 passengers without further incident.
