Police Sergeant Helps Fight Vegetation Fire | Chula Vista

6.14.2021 | 5:26 PM | CHULA VISTA – A police Sergeant helped fight a small fire and kept it in check until firefighters arrived Monday afternoon.

A small vegetation fire broke out along the bike path on the south side of the Sweetwtaer River, and west of the N. 2nd St bridge amid above average temperatures Monday afternoon.

CVPD officer Sgt. Coulson helped keep the fire small by using a fire extinguisher until firefighters arrived.

The fire is of unknown cause. Firefighters are bracing warmer weather conditions and a higher brush fire potential during an anticipated heat wave that will flourish throughout the southland this week.
