Police Presence at USC For Two El Monte PD Officers Killed | Los Angeles

06.14.2022 | 9:45 PM | LOS ANGELES – Two El Monte Police officers were killed in a violent shooting this afternoon in the City of El Monte.

One of the officers killed was a veteran officer with 22 years on the police force, and the other was on the force less than a year, per the El Monte Chief of Police.

Both officers had family ties to the City of El Monte.

The two officers were responding to reports of a stabbing at a motel when two officer involved shootings occurred.

It is believed the first occurred inside the hotel room, and the second occurred outside in the parking lot.

The suspect is deceased at the scene, and a firearm was recovered.
